lyrics
There’s too much dirty water in my system once again
Out driving with the Lost Boys in the barren lands—
There’s only so much poison I can fight at the one time
better drain the oil better give myself a clean,
there’s damage to the fuel tank better make it look pristine
Wind the mountain road down till we hit the golden plain
go easy on the hairpin bends they've got a reputation
the hail belts down into your face, but don't you ev’ complain
if you take the privileges it goes with the terrain
when you've got the dirty water running through your system once again
I been drinking like a Twister, sleeping off my head
Hiding from all certainty, well that was the intent,
Hang out in the parking lot with all the smoking men
Or deep down in the basement where the light cannot get in
when you’ve got the dirty water riding through your system once again
there’s too much dirty water in my system once again
I lost the rhythm in my breath I’m hyperventilating
Watch out for the pirates they all creep up in the night
they hang back off the islands, keep well out of sight
they'll kill you given half the chance, they’ve got no sense of wrong or right
blood and water oil and water blood and water oil and water
It seems there’s nothing given and for certain nothing gained
the country is not for motion the ladies not for change
the bass speakers distorting in the late night bar
the woman with the smudged mascara comes gives you the eye
you take the late night taxi home, though it is not far to home
blood and water oil and water blood and water oil and water

Me and the "Cake " go back a long way ,, Helen reckons they nailed it on this one ,,, I reckon they nailed it on"Brood' and then there was "Curious" and what about 19 easy pieces,,that I bought after seeing them at the Fly By. in Freo , (west australia ), back in the 90's , thanks for getting me through some crazy times ! I posted this 2019 , cheers ,, Russ Park
An absolute delightful collection of Cake tunes. It includes the hidden Cake classic "Travel Shop". David's reflection of a night in Melbourne floats over a beautiful tune, somehow hits a nerve in these times. Worth it for this track alone. Take care folks. David Whiting
This is one more reason why I wish MFTCC would tour the states (I live in Pittsburgh). Some tracks, like "Weather Coast" sound even better live than in the studio. Fantastic playing and great songs. It's a pity my copy hasn't arrived yet (ordered it in Sept) but I'm still enjoying the digital download. Philip Maye
Mike Cadoo’s concept record dealing with his father’s dementia diagnosis wrenches palpable emotion from haunting ambient textures. Bandcamp New & Notable Sep 26, 2022
How is it that All India Radio can produce so many albums so frequently and never lose steam? It's truly an inspiration. With groovy synths, atmospheric walls of sound, and delightfully hammy voice samples, the album blasts us back to the classic age of science fiction, proving that the genre is eternal. resaurus
